A Pair of Suspects Accused for Jail Killing of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins
Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and convicted child sex offender Ian Watkins.
Rashid Gedel, 25, and Samuel Dodsworth, 43 stand indicted for homicide and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per investigating officers.
Watkins, 48 years old, was serving a 29-year sentence at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the attempted rape of a baby.
Watkins was arrested after the execution of a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were confiscated.
