“It was unfortunate. It was essentially an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones stated during a Tuesday interview. “Present was a large group of Dallas supporters—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with excitement for the Dallas team.”
He further emphasized that the signal was completely unintentional, occurring amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply showed the incorrect digit,” he noted. “The action was accidentally done. I’m not kidding. Should you call it unplanned, you can. However, it got resolved rapidly.”

This incident isn’t the initial instance an NFL owner has been penalized for inappropriate behavior. Recent examples involve:
