I will dominate 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for next month's bout.
Ex two-time world boxing king Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35, said.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's my goal."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua opponent the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK opponent Fury - and declined a large bet 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive earnings.
Prediction and Belief
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Physical Difference
As both boxers engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really proceeding.
